Monica focuses her practice on labor and employment law and HR best practices. She has deep technical expertise in employment law and hands-on experience as a SHRM-SCP certified human resources professional, enabling her to advise clients holistically on critical compliance frameworks, performance management, employee relations, and regulatory matters.
Her goal is to avoid costly litigation. To that end, she draws on her unique perspective as a labor and employment litigator, in-house counsel, and human resources professional to help employers and employees navigate day-to-day workplace issues.
Monica routinely advises clients on compliance with and interpretation of state, federal, and administrative employment laws, including wage laws. She assists clients with hiring and firing, reductions in force, and the negotiation and drafting of various agreements, including employment, independent contractor, non-compete, non-solicitation, confidentiality, settlement, separation, and release. She also drafts and reviews employee handbooks and employment policies. Finally, she zealously defends and/or prosecutes employment claims before state, federal, and administrative courts.
