Our Employment Law Section represents employers of all sizes in litigation and counseling matters involving all types of employment issues. We have extensive experience in handling employment discrimination issues, employment contracts, wrongful discharge claims, workers' compensation retaliation claims, employment related personal injury claims such as defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy, wage and hour issues, employee health and safety issues, unemployment compensation issues, and the employment obligations of federal contractors. We combine our litigation and administrative experience with our specialized knowledge of employment law to aggressively represent the rights of employers. The Employment Law Section has tried employment cases in state and federal courts and in arbitration hearings throughout the United States.
We also counsel employers on the employment law implications of day-to-day employment decisions such as hiring, disciplining employees, proposed employment policies, non-competition and confidentiality agreements, reductions in force and involuntary terminations. We provide practical advice that is designed to minimize the likelihood of litigation resulting from employer decisions, and in the event there is litigation, to place the employer in the best possible position to defend any claims.
